Admissions

REAL School Budapest is an independent, not-for-profit, fully accredited British international school that educates for sustainability, primarily through real-life, entrepreneurial learning. Our mission is to inspire and empower the next generation to dream and build a more beautiful, equitable and sustainable world. The school is currently accepting international students aged 5-14.

Who is

Real school for?

We seek families who understand that the future is uncertain and who believe in equipping children with the skills and mindsets necessary to thrive in a world of rapid change.

At REAL School Budapest, we cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset, encouraging students to think creatively, act innovatively, and view challenges as opportunities. Our curriculum ensures that students not only develop the skills to make a meaningful impact but also acquire the foundational academic knowledge essential for further education.

Wellbeing is a cornerstone of our philosophy. We focus on nurturing the social, emotional, and physical health of our students, aiming to nurture a balanced and resilient generation.

We seek families who share our commitment to caring deeply for our planet and who value diversity and equity. If you desire an educational partner who will prepare your child to navigate and shape a sustainable future, join us!

Please note that currently we do not have staffing provision to accommodate children with special needs, severe learning differences or serious behavioural issues. As the school grows, our intention is to create a diverse community that would be a safe environment for students of all abilities, but at this stage, this is not the case.

The primary language of teaching at the REAL School is English. While the school welcomes students with all English abilities, preference is given to those with strong English skills, so they could access the learning opportunities. For students older than 8, we require that they are conversational in English, to be able to engage in projects and activities. For pupils who are 11 or above, reasonable fluency in spoken and written English is required. The School will assess English proficiency as part of the application process.

The school welcomes students from ages 5 to 14. The school provides an all-through learning experience as students spend their days in multi-age groups.

As the next step, apply through our online application system and submit supporting documentation. This is pretty straightforward: basic data, schooling experience to date, any special needs or issues to be aware of, and questions on motivation for wishing to join the school. For applicants ages 11+, we also ask for a short video introduction and a personal statement.

Please note that the application fee will be invoiced following your submission.

Step 5

Meet the Founders

Following the review of the application, families are invited to meet the Founders through an online call to help establish whether the values and intentions of the School meet the expectations and values of the family. This is an important step in the process, as the community plays an essential part in the School's ethos and education process.

Step 6

Trial Days! Yay!

After the family meeting, your child would normally be invited for 3 trial days at the school, to get a feel for the learning experience and the community, as well as to assess their readiness to join REAL School.

Step 7

Contract & payment

Once a formal offer of a place has been made, parents are asked to agree to the contract, and pay the Seat reservation fee to secure a place at the school.
